Pedro Valle-Rodriguez, a fourth-grader at Mote Elementary School in Wilmington, Del., has been named an Outstanding School Safety Patroller by the Automobile Association of Delaware.
AAA Mid-Atlantic notes that the school safety patrol program is the world's largest, with more than 679,000 children participating each year.
Valle-Rodriguez's teachers describe him as someone who leads by example.
He's also willing to help out wherever needed, even when it was something outside of his school safety duties, per a press release.
